About the Artist

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website. I’m very happy to see your interest, as, in my opinion, is the viewer’s emotions and appreciation that make an artwork special, and art in general so important.

I am a leisure artist and designer living in Australia, one of the most beautiful and friendly countries in the world.

I like learning, and I am self-taught in art. At the same time, I have been fortunate to receive critique, guidance and advice from the well-known Australian artists John McCartin, Richard Rogers, Tony Smibert, Colley Whisson and John Wilson, and to be inspired by the great masters like Leonardo da Vinci, Vasily Polenov, Hans Heysen, Anders Zorn, the surrounding world and Nature...

Visual art has been an important part of my life for a very long time. Ever since I was a toddler, I enjoyed drawing and painting more than any other activity. Thirty years later, I love it as much as ever, except now I’m using different paints, and my painting style constantly changes and evolves. Once the Internet came along, it became another place to share my love for observation, appreciation and discovery of colours, lines, shapes, and the joy of creating something beautiful with one’s own hands.

In addition to fine art, I’m interested in science, engineering and information technology, which resulted in two university degrees and a way to earn some living. Such versatile interests may seem like a detour from my life-long passion for art, but I like to think that this knowledge is of a great use in my painting pursuits. It helps to understand properties of light and colour, resolve proportions and perspective, choose and use the correct pigments and mediums, and even to create and maintain this website.

I believe that emotional effect is an essential element of any artwork and creative process. Seeing someone else enjoying the results of that process is the best gratification and reward for the artist’s efforts, skills and expertise. So I would like to thank you for coming to see my artworks, for sending messages with your comments and critique, for buying my paintings, and for encouraging me to keep doing what I love. It is a great privilege to have your interest and support.
